What is virtual therapy?

Virtual therapy - sometimes referred to as online therapy, "telehealth," or "teletherapy" - is professional mental health counseling (or psychotherapy) offered via phone call or an online video call platform, rather than in-person such as in an office or treatment facility.

Benefits of virtual therapy

Virtual therapy offers optimal flexibility in scheduling since you no longer need to factor-in travel time to and from an office building. It also allows you to schedule while you're at home with your children (provided they're occupied during your session) or during a brief break from your normal at-home work routine.

If you're someone who doesn't have easy transportation, finds it difficult to leave the home, or just prefers being in the comfort of their own home when doing therapy, then the ease of online appointments can be a great option.

Another cool feature of online therapy is you can have your pet with you! Many people feel comforted by their pets when working through difficulties, and doing therapy online from your own home makes this easy.
